American Freethought, Part 1: Freethinkers had a great influence on American's founding. Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson and Ethan Allen were all Freethinkers yet we know so little about this side of their stories and even less about how Freethinkers have influenced the world we see today? Why did the Abolitionist movement cause many to break with the church? Is America a Christian nation? Join us for a look at this Forgotten History.

There will be a Q&A after the film with producer and filmmaker, Roderick Bradford, Publisher-Editor of The Truth Seeker--the world's oldest freethought publication.

Bradford is also author of D.M. Bennett,The Truth Seeker.Bennett founded the Truth Seeker periodical in 1873 and at the time was considered America's most controversial publisher. Bradford's film about Bennett received the Portland Humanist Film Festival Grand Prize for Best Feature Length Film in 2011.
